Maker's mark: 'GIIB' in a lozenge, for Giovacchino Belli (struck on the side of the base)

Ewer, silver-gilt, in neoclassical vase form. The spout formed as a triton playing a horn, the handle of black oxidized silver formed as a greyhound, with a gold collar. Round the shoulder is a frieze of playing winged putti. The detachable lid has a small round finial.
